Tools of Titans by Tim Ferriss

This is no easy read. Over 600+ pages, Tim Ferriss outlines all advice, lessons and ideas discussed in his podcasts with  overachievers. His guests cover a breadth of different backgrounds and professions. Professional athletes, Silicon Valley serial entrepreneurs, actors, directors, photographers, stand up comedians, CEOs … anyone who’s reached the top of their chosen field has been interviewed.

The book splits across three chapters: Healthier, Wealthier and Happier and offers so many tips and ideas that at times it becomes overwhelming; you can’t help but wonder what you are doing with your life. But we have already started implementing a lot of things suggested in our daily lives in addition to some practices we had already implemented (Eg gratefulness here)

  1. meditation. Andy was already doing this but I was amazed as to how many ‘titans’ use this
  2. cold showers. Trying this at the moment (staying next to glacial lakes helps)
  3. ‘no hurry. no pause’. This is one is specially dedicated to me. I am consciously trying to take in the journey rather than the destination
  4. slow carb diet. Tim has written a whole book about this here and briefly discusses the diet here. I am trying it out for a month
